Accurso, Jennie
Jennie C. Accurso, A lifelong resident of Greenwich passed away on April 3, 2008 at the age of 96. She was born on December 1, 1911 to the late Joseph and Anna Camillo. Mrs. Accurso was a Seamstress, a member of the American Red Cross, and volunteered at Greenwich Hospital for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Greenwich, and was a member of the A.A.R.P Chapter 1210, the Mission Guild of St. Mary and also she belonged to the "Greats", Senior Center, and the Silvertones singing group.
Jennie was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Joseph Accurso who passed away on April 10, 2000, and her brothers, Lorenzo Camillo, Robert Camillo, and Anthony J. Camillo. She is survived by a sister Lucy Baldwin, and a sister-in-law Jean Camillo, also surviving her are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may call on Sunday April 6, 2008 from 4 to 8 PM at the Castiglione Funeral Home 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, CT 06830. Lena Panker Accurso, 89, died March 26, 2010 at the home of her grandson in Gastonia, NC.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on April 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Anthony & Rose Ippilitto Pangaro. She was a
member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00PM, Wednesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia
Founders Chapel with Reverend Mr. Art Kingsley officiating. Entombment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park
Mausoleum.

Buchta, Andrew
Andrew Buchta, 77, of LeRaysville, Pa., passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 6, 2008, at his home following a period of declining health.
Born March 1, 1930, in Bayonne, N.J., he was one of 13 children of John and Susana Kika Buchta.
In earlier years Andrew was employed by Fashion Footwear in North Bergen, N.J., for 10 years; Owens-Illinois in North Bergen for 19 years; and Tetley Inc. in Palisades Park, N.J., for 17 years. Following his retirement in 1998, at the age of 68, he moved to LeRaysville.
Andrew was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.
On June 29, 1957, he married the former Janet Stefanik in Jersey City, N.J.
Andrew was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Towanda, Pa., and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Palisades Park.
In earlier years he enjoyed bowling. He enjoyed going to football games and playing with his grandsons.
Surviving are: his wife, Janet Buchta, at home; two sons, Andrew Buchta and his wife, Christine of Emerson, N.J., and Thomas Buchta and his wife, Emily, of Roxbury, N.J.; his grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, Jennifer and Mecale; three brothers, John Buchta of Point Pleasant, N.J., Rudolph Buchta and his wife, Barbara, of Spring Lake, N.J., and Benjamin Buchta and his wife, Christine, of Sunrise, Fla.; three sisters, Vilma Slawinski, Irene Buchta and Helen Gatti, all of Sunrise; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral and committal service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday Feb. 9, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with the Rev. Jira Albers, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Towanda, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be Monday, Feb. 11, in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.

Buchta, Irene
Irene Buchta, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Bethlehem, PA on February 28th, 2016 with family surrounding her. Irene was born on November 5, 1926 in Bayonne, NJ. She was one of thirteen children born to the late John and Susanna (Kika) Buchta.
Irene worked at Muellers Pasta Factory in Jersey City, NJ as well as being employed for 30+ years at the Western Electric Company. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling in her earlier days.
She was predeceased by her sister Anna Buchta, brothers John and Andrew Buchta and five siblings who died in childhood and infancy. She is survived by sisters, Vilma Slawinski and Helen Gafli, brothers, Rudolph Buchta and Benjamin Buchta and their wives, Barbara Buchta and Christina Buchta as well as a sister-in-law, Janet Buchta. She was also predeceased by brothers-in-law Angelo Gatti and Gerald Slawinski and a sister-in-law, Amy Buchta. Irene is beloved by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She touched many lives with her selfless love and care for others.
All who knew her will remember her sweet smile, calm spirit and generous heart. She will forever be remembered and missed by her family and friends.
Janet Grace Buchta, 81, of LeRaysville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Janet was born in New Hyde Park, New Jersey, on June 30, 1937, the daughter of Alexander and Jeanette Strack Stefanik. Janet was employed by the Maxwell House Coffee Company in Hoboken, New Jersey, for 12 years until retirement. Janet was dedicated to her family and home. She enjoyed cooking, making home improvements, and landscaping projects. Janet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Towanda and enjoyed attending the Bible study there.
She is survived by her sons, Andrew Buchta and wife, Christine of Emerson, New Jersey, Thomas Buchta of Harker Heights, Texas; grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas Buchta; sisters, Lois Stefanik and Joan Spencer; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Buchta on Feb. 6, 2008, and sister, Doris Henke.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Towanda with Pastor Jira Albers officiating. Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, New Jersey. Lisa Chimblo, 36, of Cos Cob, passed away on March 24, 2005 at Greenwich Hospital.
She was born August 21, 1968 in Greenwich to Eda Wolack and the late John Wolack, Jr. She is the wife of Eugene Chimblo, Jr. She was a caring person, who loved the zoo and especially enjoyed her nieces and nephew.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Chimblo, Jr. of Cos Cob, her mother, Eda Wolack of Greenwich, two sisters; Kristi Fiscella of Greenwich and Lori Surman of Greenburgh, NY, 3 aunts, Valy Laponte, Renata Goepfrich, and Lidia Lupinacci, nieces, Alicia Fiscella, Jessica Fiscella, Chelsea and Gillian Chimblo, and a nephew, James Chimblo. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law Eugene & Barbara Chimblo, Sr. of Greenwich.
Her father, John Wolack, Jr., preceded her in death, and her grandparents, Agnes and John Wolack Sr. and Santina and Dominic Facchin.

Kristi Wolack Fiscella, 43, a Lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away in her home on Sunday, Jan 31, 2010 after a long illness. Andrew Frano, 83, of Monroe, passed away at Saint Joseph's Manor on May 23, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 7, 1926 in Greenwich, to Anna Kika and Joseph Frano, he was predeceased by wife Mary Wertz, whom he married in 1952. Survived by son Andrew C. Frano and wife Gail and their two daughters, Hilary and Danielle of Monroe, and daughter Susan Greene and husband Chip and their daughter Allison of Mystic. Andrew is also survived by sisters Ann Surman of Glenville, and Helen Shimeski of Riverside. He was predeceased by brothers John, Martin, and Joseph and sister Kay. Before moving to Monroe in 2007, Andrew lived in Old Greenwich, for 40 years. He attended Greenwich Public Schools and served in the Army Air Corps. He served as a Special Police Officer in Greenwich, where he owned "Frano's TV Clinic" with his brother Martin. He retired from Pitney Bowes in Stamford, where he was a Security Officer. His love of gardening was only surpassed by the love he had for his family and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main Street in Trumbull, on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Andrew's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be welcome.

Mrs. Anna Kika Frano, 83, died Monday, December 29, 1975 at her home, 38 Quarry Knoll. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Greenwich and of the Ladies Lutheran Society in Byram. Mrs. Frano was born July 26, 1892, in Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Kika, the wife of the late Joseph Frano, Sr., who died in 1958, and the mother of the late Mrs. Robert E. Smith. Surviving are four sons, Joseph, Jr., and John, both of Byram, Martin of Port Chester and Andrew of Old Greenwich; two other daughters, Mrs. Frederick Surman of Byram and Mrs. Matthew Shimeski of Riverside; and 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. May 24, 1938 - Feb 9, 2020 Caroline Frano, of Cos Cob, passed away Sunday February 9th. She was 81. Born in Greenwich on May 24, 1938 to Angelo and Anna Pucci; Caroline attended Greenwich schools graduating from Greenwich High School Class of 1956. Caroline was very involved in the community, serving as the District 8 Chairperson on the RTM board, as well as many other associations. Caroline is fondly remembered as an excellent baker and cook, but above all her real passion was her family. Dorothy L. Frano, 61, of Byram, a resident of Greenwich most of her life, died Febuary 5, 1990 at Greenwich Hospital after a lengthy illness. George A. Frano, a lifelong Greenwich resident, passed away suddenly March 3rd. He was 51. Born in Greenwich, December 31, 1970 to George and Caroline Frano; George was a graduate of Greenwich High School and then went on to work as an electrician for many years before working for the Town of Greenwich in their Marine Facilities Department. George was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and boating. He also loved to cook. He is survived by his loving father George, his twin brother Andrew (Amy) and sister Anne-Marie (Jeff), nephew AJ, and longtime companion Betsy Sohl. He was predeceased by his mother Caroline. Frano, Hannah
Hannah Frano, 100, of Cos Cob, died on June 16, 2006 at The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home in Greenwich. She was born Aug. 22, 1905 in Sneem, County Kerry, Ireland to John and Mary Fitzgerald Breen. Frano worked as a housekeeper for the Homestead Inn in the Belle Haven section of Greenwich, and later as a matron at Cos Cob School. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside for more than 65 years. She immigrated to the United States in 1925 and settled in Greenwich.
She was a strong advocate for a united Ireland and in her youth was a member of the IRA. In 1936, she married Andrew Frano Jr. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her three sons, Andrew Frano and his wife, Patricia, of Cos Cob, Jack Frano and his wife, Nancy, of West Yarmouth, Mass., and George Frano and his wife, Caroline, of Cos Cob; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in the United States, Ireland and England.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew in 1948, two brothers and five sisters as well as a granddaughter, Kathryn Frano. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Catherine's Church and interment followed at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, N.Y. The Castiglione Funeral Home handled arrangements. Frano, Jeannette
Jeannette "Jean" Frano, 92, of Greenwich, who worked for 50 years as a nurse at Greenwich Hospital, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home. She died of natural causes, said her niece, Barbara Riakowsky.
Born in Portsoy, Scotland, on July 25, 1910, she was the daughter of the late John and Lily Robertson Clunas. Mrs. Frano was a graduate of the Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing in 1932 and received her 50-year pin at the hospital in 1982.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Frano, and by several nieces and nephews.
Services and interment are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 231 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich, CT 06830.

Joseph Frano Jr. age 91, of Greenwich, husband of the late Jean Clunas Frano, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007. He was born in Bayonne, NJ on January 22, 1916 to the late Joseph and Anna Kika Frano and resided in Greenwich since 1926. Most recently, he had been living at Sunrise Assisted Living in Stamford. Mr. Frano served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He then worked for Schick Razor Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Byram Shore Boat Club and Byram Sokol Club. Mr. Frano loved animals, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed all sports and was a highly dedicated Met's fan. He is survived by two sisters Anne F. Surman of Greenwich and Helen F. Shimeski of Riverside; brother Andrew Frano of Monroe and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to Jean, his wife of 48 years, he was predeceased by two brothers, Martin and John Frano and his sister Kaye F. Smith. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 3, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 286 Delavan Avenue, Greenwich. Burial will be private. Funeral services were held this morning at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Byram for John Frano, 54, a retired patrolman with the Greenwich Police Dept. He died Friday, August 26 at Greenwich Hospital.
Mr Frano, a resident of Greenwich most of his life, lived at 114 Pine St. He was born in Dover, N.J., May 30, 1923, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Kika Frano. During World War II, he served with the United States Air Force.
A member of the police department from 1949 until his retirement in 1975, Mr. Frano belonged to the Connecticut State Police Assn., the Silver Shield Assn., and the East Port Chester Fire Dept.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Leibrock Frano; and three sons, John Edward, Robert John and Mark William, all of the home address.
Also surviving are three brothers, Joseph Frano of Byram, Martin Frano of Port Chester and Andrew Frano of Old Greenwich; and two sisters, Mrs. Frederick (Anne) Surman of Byram and Mrs. Matthew (Helen) Shimeski of Riverside.
The Rev. Kenneth Ballas officiated at the services. Burial was in Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye.

John Frano a longtime resident of Greenwich, died February 27, 2010 in Brattleboro, Vt. He was 92 and was born June 1, 1917 in Port Chester, N.Y. to the late Andrew and Suzanne Mikulas Frano. He was raised and educated in Greenwich and graduated from Wright Technical School in Stamford, CT. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was married to the late Anne Velebir Frano. Mrs. Frano died in 1978. Mr. Frano was the owner and operator of Frano Lumber and Mill in Greenwich. He was an active member of the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Byram. He was also active in the church's choir. He was also a member of the Sokol Club, the Woodsman of the World and was a member of the East Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Frano is survived by his son, Kenneth Frano of Wilmington, VT; daughters, Arlene Tompson of Walpole, N.H.., and Lynne Nardini of Yarmouthport, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday March 5, 2010 in Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Martin Frano Sr., 70, the former co-owner of a television and radio repair shop in Greenwich, died December 14, 1987 at his home in Port Chester, N.Y., after a long illness. Born in Bayonne, N.J., April 22, 1917, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Kika Frano. A Port Chester resident for 37 years, he had lived previously in Greenwich and White Plains, N.Y. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked at Frano's Television Repair Shop on Mason Street. Mr. Frano is survived by his wife Jean DeLuca Frano; two daughters, Sandra Frano of Port Chester and Carol Fox of Stamford; a son Martin Jr. of Ellenville, N.Y.; two sisters Ann Surman of Byram and Helen Shimeski of Cos Cob; two brothers, Joseph of Byram and Andrew of Old Greenwich; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Fox and Michael Fox of Stamford. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the First Lutheran Church on Field Point Road. Burial will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, N.Y. Friends may call today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher and Sons Inc. funeral home on Arch Street. Frano, Mary
Mary Frano, 62, a homemaker and lifelong town resident, died Thursday, January 3, 1991 at Greenwich Hospital. She died of heart failure, said her husband, Andrew Frano. Born March 19, 1928, in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Katherine Doeberl Wertz. She attended Greenwich schools. Mrs. Frano was a volunteer at the Nathaniel Witherell Home for about 10 years. She loved wildlife and traveled in Africa 10 years ago on a safari trip. She and her husband, a security officer with Pitney Bowes in Stamford, were married on July 12, 1952. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Andrew C. Frano of Monroe; a daughter, Susan Greene of Annapolis, Md; two sisters, Elizabeth Goff of Ocoee, Fla. And Louise Wertz of Old Greenwich; a nephew, Frederick Lambert of Greenwich; and three grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford. Burial will be private and there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Critical Care Unit of Greenwich Hospital.
Frano, Robert
ROBERT JOHN FRANO passed away on May 23, 2012. Bobby was born on December 24, 1956 to Dorothy (Leibrock) and John Frano. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1975, and has most recently worked as a truck driver for A. DeLuca and Sons for over a decade. Bobby loved his truck, his beer, and his NY based sports teams, but more than anything, Bobby loved his family and his friends. He worked hard and played hard and he will always be remembered as a loyal brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins and his two brothers, John and Mark, his sister-in-laws, Anna and Sue, his nephews, Doug and Steve (Kappy), and his nieces, Nikki and Kaylee, of Greenwich, CT, who loved and adored their Uncle Bob, The King. Frano, Sandra J.
Sandra J. Frano, an administrative assistant and lifelong Port Chester resident, died of congestive heart failure on Tuesday. Oct. 7, 1997, at United Hospital Medical Center in Port Chester. She was 54.
Miss Frano was born Aug. 14, 1943 in White Plains to Martin and Jean DeLuca Frano. She was raised in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School and from Helen McAvoy Secretarial School in Manhattan.
Miss Frano worked for Westchester County for 27 years. Most recently, she was an assistant to the labor relations director.
She was a Seventh Day Adventist.
In addition to her mother of Port Chester, Miss Frano is survived by a sister, Carol Fox of Stamford, Conn., and a brother, Martin Frano Jr. of Woodbourne. N.Y.
Joseph Tutera Funeral Home of Port Chester is handling the arrangements.

John Fuchella, 93, of Greenwich passed away on May 21, 2011. He was born in Byram to the late Paul and Anna (Frano) Fuchella. He was predeceased by his wife Marion Fuchella. For many years he worked for Pitney Bowes. John was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Greenwich. He enjoyed his garden and loved his dogs. He is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews and his caretaker of 3 years Irene Smolenska. Fuchella, Mary
Mary Fuchella, 97, a lifelong resident of Byram, died on May 3, 2008.
Born Oct. 3, 1910 in Byram to the late Paul Sr., and Anna Frano Fuchella, she attended New Lebanon Elementary School and Greenwich High School, which was located on Mason Street, until one day the students were told to pick up their belongings and books and walk to the "new" high school - which is now the Town Hall.
During high school she worked for Lifesavers Corp. in Port Chester, N.Y., before starting a 30-plus-year career with Pitney Bowes in 1942. At that time, her brothers, Joseph and Andrew, left for Navy training in the Great Lakes.
Fuchella was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Byram.
She spent much of her life taking care of her parents, brothers and extended family.
She is survived by her brother, John , with whom she lived and cared for; her nephew, Andrew Roy Fuchella (Carol), and nieces Joanne Fuss (Joseph), Lynn Fuchella, Nancy Descano, Barbara Stevens (Paul) and Janice Carroll (James), as well as many great-nieces and -nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Katherine Broska.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Paul and Andrew.
A religious service was held May 7 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Byram. Interment followed at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, N.Y. Arrangements were handled by the Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich.
Gasparino, Peter
Peter Gasparino, 81 of Stamford, a longtime Greenwich resident. Died Sat. November 7, 2015 at Nathaniel Witherell. Born in Greenwich, CT on July 25, 1934. He was the son of the late Joseph Gasparino and Lucy Yantorno Gasparino. A graduate of Greenwich High School. Peter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He received his BS from Fairmont State University in West Virginia. He received his MS in Education from the University of Bridgeport. Peter became Recreational Supervisor for the Town of Greenwich for 3 years. He then became a Teacher, Football Coach and Drama Director at St. Mary's High School from 1963-1983. Leaving Teaching he became Vice President of Temco Building Maintenance for 27 years. He served on the Board of Estimate and Taxation in Greenwich for 24 years, Community Development Block Grant Committee in Greenwich for 15 years, a member of the Byram-Cos Cob Rotary Club for over 25 years, member of the Knights of Columbus for over 55 years and the Recreation Board of the Town of Greenwich for 5 years. Peter is survived by his longtime companion Nan Markel, 3 daughters, Bernadette, Cathy and Ellen, a sister Barbara, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was predeceased by a daughter Laura. Greene, Philip (Chip)
Mystic - Philip C. Greene Jr.., died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Aug. 28, 2015, while rehabilitating from surgery.
"Chip", as he was known by all, was born May 21, 1954, son of the late Philip C. Greene and Anita (Wheeler) Greene. He grew up in West Mystic, graduating from Fitch High School in 1972. After earning a math degree from the University of Vermont, he spent a successful sales career working in the computer industry for Sperry Rand, Masstor, and especially with a great crew at StorageTek. He, with his wife of 30 years, Susan A. Frano, and their daughter Allison, lived in the Annapolis, Md., area for 13 years before returning to Mystic where he continued sales with Defender Industries of Waterford.
Chip loved being near, in, and on the water, playing golf, and spending time with his large family and many friends. His magnetic personality and sense of humor touched all those around him.
He will be sorely missed by Sue and Allie; his three close brothers, Rod, Randy, and Tom and their families; Sue's brother, Andy and his family; and all the nieces, nephews, and their children who loved being around their "Uncle Chip."
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1. There will be an outdoor service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the "Casbah", 11 Maxson St., West Mystic. All are invited to join the family in celebrating this loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and dear friend, who we are blessed to have had in our lives.

Jennifer A. Imbrogno
With sadness, love, and profound gratitude, the family of Jennifer A. Imbrogno, 64, announces her sudden passing on January 20, 2022, at her home in Greenwich, CT. Jenny, as she was known by, was born in Greenwich, CT, daughter of the late Thomas and Christine (Mitchell) Lowthert. Jenny was kind and generous and loved by everyone who knew her. She was a dedicated employee of the Town of Greenwich and loved helping the people of Greenwich. She was an excellent cook, loved to read, and would be the first one to see the new "Disney" movie. Besides being a devoted mother and wife, her most proud achievement was becoming a grandmother.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Lawrence Imbrogno Jr.; her sons Lawrence W. Imbrogno III, Joseph Imbrogno and Thomas Imbrogno; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer L. Imbrogno and her two grandchildren, Brayden and Tyler Imbrogno. In addition to her parents, Jenny is predeceased be her beloved sister, Lisa Lowthert and brother, Thomas Lowthert.
There will be a visitation at Castiglione Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27 from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine's of Siena Church on Friday, January 28 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
Izzi, Joan Theresa Drabeck
Joan Theresa (Drabeck) Izzi 68, of Wilton, CT, passed Thursday, September 22, 2016, after a long illness. Born on June 8, 1948 in Greenwich CT, she was the daughter of Olga (Frano) Drabeck and Andrew Drabeck.
She graduated Greenwich High in 1966, then attended and graduated Catherine Gibbs School in New York, NY. Upon graduation, Joan held multiple positions at IBM during her tenure. There she met her future husband Ralph E. Izzi.
Joan was a long time resident of Wilton, CT. Through the years she held various volunteering positions including the Encore Club where she helped to raise money for charities. She spent many years working for The Wilton Historical Society, helping preserve Wilton's stories and history.
Joan had a gift for interior and exterior design. She enjoyed nurturing her love of design through education and travel. As an accomplished seamstress she shared that passion by creating costumes, clothes, draperies, and more for family and friends. Her efforts were always appreciated for their originality and attention to detail.
Above all Joan is remembered for her faith and devotion to her husband, sons, extended family, and friends. She lived life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same through her example.
In addition to her loving husband Ralph, of 44 years, she is survived by her two sons, David Izzi and wife Erica of Hooksett, NH, and Paul Izzi of Norwalk, CT; siblings Andrew Drabeck, Jr. and wife Norma, of Palmer, AK, Diane Trowbridge and husband Scott, of Norwalk, CT, John Drabeck and wife Linda, of New Bern, NC, and Joseph Drabeck, of Nobleboro, ME; two grandsons, David and Michael; seven nieces and nephews; two great-nephews and one great-niece; her aunt Patricia Harada, and a host of loving cousins.

Kelley, Edith
Edith Natalina Kelley of Old Greenwich passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. She was 82.
She was born Dec. 24, 1928 in San Vincenzo La Costa, Consenza, Italy, the daughter of late John and Elvira Lagana Giacinto. She lived most of her adult life in Old Greenwich and was predeceased by her husband Edward H. Kelley and her sister Rita C. Tordo.
She retired from the Greenwich school system and also worked with her son at Alpen Pantry.
She is survived by four children, Lorain Kelley Lovejoy and her husband, Allen, of Old Greenwich, Kenneth Kelley of Wallingford, Gail Kelley Frano and her husband, Andrew, of Monroe, and Gary Kelley and his wife, Elaine, of Greenwich. She is also survived by her sister Gigi Bambace of West Harrison, N.Y., and her brothers-in-law Jack Bambace and Orlando Tordo. She was also the grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother of a boy.
The memorial service will be held Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greenwich Adult Day Care River House or Greenwich Hospice.
Kelley, William C.
William C. Kelley of Spring City, Tenn. passed away suddenly on February 28, 2011 at the age of 46. William was born in Port Chester, N.Y. on March 26, 1964. He also attended schools in Port Chester.
He is survived by his daughter Rebecca, his mother Rachel (Diaspro) Bickar and his father William P. Kelley. He is also survived by his sister Patricia (Gary) Enright and his brother Shawn and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

William P. Kelley, 67, a resident of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away on March 23, 2011. He was born in Port Chester, NY and moved to Spring Hill from Connecticut. He was Catholic by faith and a motorcycle enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his son, William C. Kelley. Kovach, Steven Wayne
Steven Wayne Kovach, 57, of Greenwich, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 1, 2019. He was the youngest born to the late Evelyn (McGinty) and John Kovach on August 9, 1962 in Port Chester, NY. He graduated from J.M. Wright Technical High School in Stamford, CT and was a second generation plumber. He was a 30 year member of Local 777 as a Plumber Pipefitter for various companies in the Greenwich area and later traveled to Maryland, upstate New York and throughout CT for numerous union jobs. He was certified in many areas of his field and was exceptional at his work. Steve had a great sense of humor, was generous to those he cared for and was greatly loved by his family, friends and neighbors.
Steven loved to travel, enjoyed the outdoors and being on or near the water. He enjoyed fishing and was a car enthusiast, taking pride in all his vehicles; maintaining, repairing, fixing, tinkering on or washing them.
Steve's greatest love was his son, Robert, whom he is survived by. He is also survived by his siblings, John, Linda and Richard, three nieces, a nephew, and a great niece and a great nephew, all whom he adored and loved spending time with. He was predeceased by his brother David in 2015. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mayone, Doris
Long-time Greenwich resident Doris M. Mayone passed peacefully at her home on December 13, 2011 at the age of 85. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mame Schroyer. Doris graduated from the Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1944. Later that year, and during WWII, she worked as a nurses aid at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, and at the Women's Medical College Hospital for the American Red Cross. After the war, and up until 1952, she worked as a draftswoman and departmental artist for the Device & Relay Division of GE. In 1952, Doris married Joseph Mayone, a WWII vet' and Greenwich resident. In the wonderful years that followed they raised five children, four boys and one girl. In 1979, in their mid-fifties, when their youngest was 16 years old, Doris and her husband became licensed US Private Pilots. Each considered that achievement as a most rewarding accomplishment in their personal lives. Doris is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Mayone Sr, her sister June Saenz of Philadelphia, her five children, Joseph Jr., Stephen, Michael, Gregory, her daughter Judy Bridge, and her eleven grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by her brother Frank Jr. of Philadelphia. Mortenson, Sr., Robert L.
Robert Lester Mortenson Sr. of Englewood, FL, formerly of Greenwich, CT, died May 24, 2016.
Bob was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Port Chester, NY, to Doris and Martin Mortenson, and grew up in Glenville, CT. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Bob was the proprietor of Putnam Service Station in Port Chester until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and loved wood carving. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks Club, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Englewood and North Port Woodcarvers Club.
He was a volunteer fireman for Reliance Engine and Hose in Port Chester for 69 years, and was the grand marshal for its 190th anniversary. Bob was a former member of the Byram Rotary and Sokol clubs.
He was predeceased by two wives, Nancy (McAllister) and Ethel (Frano) Mortenson; a brother, Norman; and a sister, Ruth Krawecki.
He is survived by a sister Doris (Hansen) of (Washington) MA; two sons, Robert (Stacey) and James (Maryann,) both of Greenwich; two daughters, Jean of Norwalk, CT, and Cheryl Cerasoli (Dominick) of Somers, NY; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gloria Ann Panker, 95 of Greenwich, Connecticut, passed away on Wednesday July 6th, 2022, in Naples, Florida with her family at her side. Gloria was born May 5th, 1927, in Port Chester, New York to Hazel Senft Accurso and Philip Accurso. Gloria was raised and instilled with love by her Aunt Concetta Accurso and Cousin Jennie Accurso.
Gloria lived in Greenwich, CT most of her life where she raised her family and worked as cashier at The Connecticut Natural Gas Company in Greenwich, CT. For 30 years she greeted many people every day with a smile and warm welcome. Gloria was a devoted Catholic and loved animals. Gloria enjoyed singing and had a beautiful voice that would silence and calm any room.
Gloria and her husband enjoyed many trips, with emphasis on the the Hudson Valley, Pocono Mountains, and drives to Florida visiting friends and family along the way.
Gloria is survived by her loving daughter Lorraine La Motte and husband Frank in Montana, her grandchildren Frederick Surman, Laurence Surman, Joseph Chiappetta, Amanda Mayone and Jeffrey Mayone, her great grandchildren twins John and Lisa Surman, and twins Sophia and Emily Mayone, her loving brother Robert Accurso and her dear family friend Frank Quatrone. She shared her love, great sense of humor, and pride with her family. Her ever-present motto was "If you're happy, I'm happy", a testament to her beautiful and kind heart, which will live on in those who love and remember her.
Family that left this world before her include her husband, Laurence Panker, daughter Toni Lynn Surman, as well as siblings Phillip Accurso, Genevieve Imbrogno, Helene Sabia and Joseph Accurso.

Laurence Joseph Panker, a longtime resident of Greenwich, CT passed away on March 1, 2008 at the age of 89. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 27, 1919 to the late Antonio and Rose Ippolito Pangaro (Panker). Laurence is survived by his loving wife Gloria Accurso Panker, devoted daughters Toni Lynn Surman and her partner Frank Quartrone of Greenwich and Lorraine La Motte and her husband Frank of Trout Creek, MT. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Frederick Surman VII of Greenwich, Laurence Surman and his wife Lori of Hartsdale, NY, Joseph Chiappetta and his wife Margaret McGovern of Ormond Beach, FL, Amanda Rose Mayone of Bridgeport, CT, Jeffrey Michael Mayone of Redding, CT, and twin great grandchildren John Laurence and Lisa Ann Surman, and a sister, Lena Accurso of Gastonia, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Laurence was a WWII Veteran and served in China, Burma, and India Campaigns in the Signal Corp. He was retired from the State of Connecticut Highway Toll Department and enjoyed his family and pets always by his side. Laurence was an avid gardener and boxing and Yankees fan. Alexander L. Riakowsky, 90, died March 20, 2005 at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home. Al, the son of the late Frank & Stefania Darmochwal Riakowsky, was born in Greenwich, CT on October 13, 1914. He owned and operated Al's Tree Service for many years, was a founding member of the Jana Sobieski Society and a long time member of the Glenville Volunteer Fire Department. He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie Sast Riakowsky, his beloved son, Robert F. Riakowsky, his brother, Walter Riakowsky and his sister, Winifred Candiloro. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Barbara Riakowsky of Greenwich, three grandchildren, Dawn McKenna and her husband, Kevin, of Ringoes, NJ, Debra Kovach and Donna Riakowsky both of Greenwich, three great-grandchildren, his sister, Helen Burant of Port Chester, NY and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Riakowsky, Barbara S.
Barbara S. Riakowsky, 64, died December 8, 2006, at New York Presbyterian Hospital after a brief illness.
Barbara, the daughter of Anne Surman and the late Frederick A. Surman V., was a lifelong resident of Greenwich. She attended Christian Day School, graduated Greenwich High School, and served as a dedicated office manager of Griffith E. Harris, Inc. for over 40 years. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and a longtime volunteer organist. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 24 years, Robert F. Riakowsky in 1984.
She is survived by three daughters, Dawn McKenna and her husband, Kevin, of Ringoes, NJ, Debbie Kovach and her husband, Steven, of Greenwich, Donna Riakowsky of Greenwich, two granddaughters, Courtney and Ashley McKenna, one grandson, Robert John Kovach, her sister Joan Kelley, brothers Fritz and Richard Surman and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16 at First Lutheran Church, 32 Field Point Road, Greenwich. There will be no calling hours and interment will be private.

Robert F. Riakowsky, 45, president of Water Specialists of Greenwich Inc., died of a heart attack April 18, 1984 at Greenwich Hospital. He lived on Ellin Drive. Mr. Riakowsky was born in Port Chester Nov. 18, 1938, son of Alexander and Sophie Sast Riakowsky of Greenwich. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwich and was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Water Quality Association and the Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Surman Riakowsky; and three daughters, Dawn, Debra and Donna Riakowsky, all of the home address. The Rev. Ronald Erbe is scheduled to conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the First Lutheran Church, Field Point Road. Burial is private. There are no calling hours. Sophia F. Riakowsky, 79, a life long Greenwich resident, died of Heart failure at her home in Greenwich on April 15, 1995. Born Nov. 18, 1915, in Greenwich to the late Fabian Sast and Catherine Kielbowicz, she was the wife of Alexander L. Riakowsky of Greenwich. She is survived by her husband; Three grandchildren; two great Grandchildren and one nephew. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Riakowsky, in 1984. Helene D. Sabia a resident of Rye Brook, NY was called into eternal life on November 21, 2009. She was 75 and was born May 28, 1934 in Port Chester to the late Philip and Susan Fair Accurso. She was raised and educated in Port Chester. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She had worked most recently in local retail. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John R. Sabia of Rye Brook, and was a devoted mother to John W. Sabia of Rye Brook, Joanne Feda of Danbury, CT and Helene D. Sabia of Mount Arlington, NJ., and dear grandmother of Marc and Michael Feda. Shimeski, Helen Frano
Helen Frano Shimeski, 100, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2020 in Palatka, Florida. Helen was born on April 6, l920 to the late Joseph and Anna Frano. She moved to Florida in 2011 to be close to her daughter, Marilyn.
Helen was a founding member of the First Lutheran Church in which she devoted many years of worship and volunteerism. She was an avid reader, gardener, baker of fine pastries and enjoyed long walks. Helen cherished sitting on her porch with the lovely Mianus River just a few steps away, crocheting, challenging crossword puzzles or catching up in conversation with family. Helen was very generous with her time and love for helping others. Her love for family, God, church and friends led her to a long, healthy life.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Matthew J. Shimeski, Sr. and son Matthew J. Shimeski, Jr. She is survived by daughters Marilyn, (Mike) and Janet (Joel). She was the loving grandmother to Elizabeth, Joseph (Andrea), Stacy (Ryan) and Marcus (Jennifer) and great grandmother to Christopher, Joseph, Jason and Cindy.

Elizabeth Helen Shimeski
Elizabeth Helen Shimeski, 53, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2021. Liz was born in Greenwich Hospital on August 7, 1967. She was predeceased by her father Matthew J. Shimeski, Jr., and grandparents Matthew (Sr.) and Helen Shimeski. Liz is survived by her Aunt Marilyn, several cousins and Jim, her companion of many years.
Elizabeth loved to read, bake fabulous dinners and entertain. She was proud of her faith in God, and her bountiful gardening.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed by all.

Shimeski, Matthew Sr.
Matthew J. Shimeski, 81, a town native who lived in Riverside and was retired from Electrolux died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at Greenwich Hospital. He died after a brief illness, according to his daughter. Marilyn Bellantoni of Branford. Mr. Shimeski was born in Greenwich on July 15, 1918, son of the late Charles and Anastasia Svenich Shimeski. He worked in the maintenance department of Electrolux. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his wife, Helen Frano Shimeski; a son, Matthew J. Shimeski Jr. of Brookfield; another daughter, Janet Goldfarb of Southwest Ranches, Fla.; a sister, Julia Zwick of Stamford; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Shimeski, and a sister Stella Heim. Services and interment are private. Shimeski, Matthew Jr.
Matthew J. Shimeski, Jr. died in Danbury Hospital on October 17, 2010 after a long illness. A long time resident of Brookfield, Matt was born in Greenwich on June 11, 1947 and was a graduate of Greenwich High School. Matt is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Shimeski, and is the son of Helen Frano Shimeski and the late Matthew J. Shimeski, Sr. He is also survived by two sisters, Janet Shimeski Goldfarb and Marilyn Shimeski, both of Florida and their children and grandchildren; and his long time friend, Merrill Zaft and their two loyal dogs, Pandora and Roscoe. Matt is best remembered for his love of the water, his love of fishing, his great interest in meteorology and his skill in creative carpentry. A memorial serivce will be held at a later date.

Anthony R. Siclari, a 37 year resident of Mahopac and formerly of Greenwich, CT died Sunday, December 18, 2005. He was 77. He was born in Greenwich on October 7, 1928, the son of Antonio and Vincetta Cotroneo Siclari. Anthony was a retired auto parts salesman with Murray's Auto Parts in Danbury. He was an active member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club and a former member of the Greenwich Masonic Lodge. On January 17, 1953 he married Geraldine Leibrock at Christ Church in Greenwich. In addition to his wife of Mahopac, he is survived by his sons and their wives, Eddie and Jennifer and Bill and Lisa, all of Mahopac, his daughters, Lori Siclari of Mahopac and Gerry Knuffke and her husband Mike of Amenia, his grandchildren, Shelbi, Tommy, Joe, Anthony, Nick, Jack, Sean, Clayton and Sarah and several nieces and nephews. Geraldine Siclari of Mahopac, NY, died Thursday January 18, 2007. She was 74. She was born in Port Chester, NY on February 26, 1932, the daughter of Walter and Valeria Leibrock. On January 17, 1953 she married Anthony R. Siclari at Christ Church in Greenwich, CT. Mr. Siclari died on December 18, 2005. She is survived by her daughters Gerry Knuffke and her husband Mike of Amenia, NY, and Lori Siclari of Mahopac, her sons Eddie and wife Jennifer and Bill and wife Lisa, all of Mahopac, her nine grandchildren, her great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Catherine Frano Smith, 48, of 4051 N.E 16th Terrace, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died Sunday, April 4, 1973 at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale. The wife of Robert E. Smith, she was a former resident of Greenwich from 1926 to 1954. A native of Dover, N.J., Mrs. Smith is survived, in addition to her husband, by three children, Debbie, Terri and Robert of the home address; her mother, Mrs. Joseph Frano of Greenwich; four brothers, Joseph and John Frano of Byram, Martin Frano of Port Chester and Andrew Frano of Old Greenwich; and two sisters, Mrs. Frederick Surman of Byram and Mrs. Matthew Shimeski of Riverside. Born on October 19, 1959 in Broward County, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Robert Edward Smith and Katherine Frano Smith. Ms. Smith was employed with Video Warehouse, as a sales clerk, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include sister, Terri Renshaw; niece, Joanne Lynn Renshaw Hughes; and nephew, Robert Renshaw.

Anne Surman, age 94, of Greenwich, passed peacefully at her home in Greenwich on Saturday, December 29. Anne was born October 26, 1918 in Bayonne, NJ to the late Joseph and Anna (Kika) Frano. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick, her daughter Barbara Riakowsky, her four brothers Joe, Martin, John and Andy Frano and her sister Catherine Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Kelley of Stamford, CT and two sons, Fritz Surman of Stamford and Richard Surman of Greenwich. Anne is also survived by her sister Helen Shimeski, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Interment at Putnam Cemetery will be private. A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Surman, Frederick IV
Frederick A. Surman, of Spring Street died Dec. 21, 1933 at his home after an illness of about three weeks. He was 55 years old. For many years he had been employed by the New York Central Railroad, in Connection with the daily handling supplies on the milk trains. Funeral services were held from his late resident Sunday afternoon. The Rev. James Butter of Mt. Kisco officiated.

Frederick Alexander Surman V, 85, a Greenwich resident, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at Greenwich Woods Health Care Center.
He died of natural causes, according to his family.
Born on Aug. 31, 1916, in New York City, he was the son of the late Frederick A. Surman IV and Marie Eve Zoelisch Surman.
A resident of Greenwich since 1941, Mr. Surman was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Greenwich. He worked as chief inspector at Electrolux Corp., retiring in 1974.
Mr. Surman married Anne Frano on Aug. 16, 1941 in Chappaqua, N.Y. Mrs. Surman, of Greenwich, survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Barbara Riakowsky of Greenwich and Joan Kelley of Stamford; two sons, Frederick "Fritz" Alexander Surman VI of Stamford and Richard John Surman of Greenwich; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Surman was predeceased by his brother, William J. Surman, and three sisters, Emily Emma Surman, Helen Frances Surman and Rita Surman.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, 38 Field Point Road, Greenwich. Burial is private.

Miss Surman was a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington. D.C. for 20 years before retiring in 1976. She was born in New York City Dec. 5, 1913, to the late Frederick A. Surman IV and the late Mary Eva Zoelisch Surman. She lived in Virginia for the past 30 years. Surviving are a brother Frederick A. Surman V of Greenwich. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William Surman, in 1966 and by a sister, Emily E. Surman, in 1984. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Marie Eva Surman, wife of the late Fred A. Surman IV, and a resident of Mt Kisco for the past 22 years, died suddenly Wednesday, June 11, 1941 in her home at 66 Woodland Street. She was 53 years of age. Surviving are two sons, Fred and William Surman of Mt Kisco. The body is reposing at the Beecher Funeral Home until tomorrow afternoon when funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev. Lee Fairchild officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Toni Lynn Surman passed away peacefully on August 19, 2016 in Greenwich, CT. She was born on November 29, 1947 in Greenwich to Laurence and Gloria Ann Panker.
Toni Lynn loved being an Avon Sales Representative for over 25 years, winning many awards including the Presidents Club Award. She loved RVing and her dog "Puppy." She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who helped raise two generations of children.
Toni Lynn is survived by her loving mother Gloria Ann Panker; her beloved sons Fred and Larry Surman; her sister Lorraine Lamotte (Frank) and her life partner Frank Quatrone. She is the devoted grandmother of John and Lisa Surman and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

William John Surman, 44, international auditor for Southern Illinois University died April 23, 1966 at 12:30 A.M. in Doctors Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He had been ill about a month. Mr. Surman was a member of the National Assoc. of Accountants and membership chairman of the National Association of University Auditors. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Surman was a deacon of University Baptist Church and taught an adult Sunday school class. He was born November 15, 1921 in Mount Kisco, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Surman. He married the former Mae Hixson on March 4, 1944 in Rossville, Georgia. He leaves his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Irene Simmons of Carbondale, sons, William, John Jr., serving, with the navy in Washington, D. C., and Frederick A. of Carbondale, sisters, Helen Surman of Arlington Va. and Emily Surman of Mount Kisco, and a brother, Frederick A. of Byram Conn. Funeral services were held 9:30 A.M. Monday in Carbondale, Illinois. Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. on Wed.
Tompson, Bill
William Charles "Bill" Tompson, 75, of Walpole, passed away on July 24, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Morristown, N.J., the son of Charles Wilfred Tompson and Anita (Bronner) Tompson. He grew up in Morristown and shared his young years with his two brothers, John Robert Tompson and Richard Henry Tompson.
On June 11, 1966, Bill married the love of his life, Arlene (Frano) Tompson. He made sure everyone around him knew the inseparable bond they shared in life, the love they had for each other, and the happiness they shared.
He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., and was inducted into their Football Hall of Fame. He enjoyed a long career in banking and finance.
Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Keene. He belonged to the Masons and was a past master of St. Paul's in Langdon. He was an avid reader and gardener. His most treasured memories were summers spent with family on Long Beach Island.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Arlene Frano Tompson; his daughters, Brett Tompson Martel and her husband, Nick, of Walpole, Traci Tompson O'Brien and her husband, Ken, of San Diego, Susan Tompson Van Fossen and her husband, Scott, of Ohio; his grandchildren, Kevin Martel, Timothy Martel and Amanda Martel, all of Walpole, and Grady O'Brien and Cara O'Brien of San Diego, Calif.; and his brother, John Tompson and wife, Connie, of Boca Raton, Fla. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Tompson.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m. in the Village Cemetery, Main Street (North Road Entrance), Walpole. There are no public calling hours.

Margareta Unger passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Smith House in Stamford, Connecticut. She was born on December 18, 1927 in Stockholm, Sweden to the late Karl Gustav and Viola Hellberg. She was predeceased by husband Berndt Unger. She lived in Greenwich for nearly 50 years. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and worked for several of Greenwich's local retailers including Janet Sloane and D.W Rodgers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her garden.
Margareta is survived by daughters Birgitta Unger and Anna Unger Frano, grandson Steven Frano and his wife Kappy and grandson Douglas Frano. She is also survived by her sister, Karin Lovén of Stockholm, Sweden and 2 nephews, 1 niece and 3 great nieces. She will be missed by her family.

Eda Wolack of Greenwich, Connecticut passed peacefully on January 30, 2023 at her home. She was born on May 30, 1943 in Greenwich.
Eda was a graduate of Greenwich High School and Berkeley College and was employed by the Board of Education in the Town of Greenwich and worked in the offices at New Lebanon School and Greenwich High School for over 40 years. She loved children and enjoyed teaching First Communion classes for many years.
Eda is predeceased by her husband, Johnny, her three daughters, Kristi, Lisa and Lori and her mother and father, Santina and Domenico Facchin.
She is survived by four grandchildren Alicia, Jessica, Lisa and John, her three sisters Rene Goepfrich, Lidia Lupinacci and Valy LaPonte and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Eda had many friends and was loved by all. She loved to dance, travel, and spend time with family.
Calling hours will be Thursday, February 2, 5 - 8 at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Road, Greenwich, CT.

Zboray, Michael A. of Greenwich died Dec. 4, 2013 he was 75
Zboray was born May 19, 1938, to Benjamin and Anna Frano Zboray. He was raised and educated in Stamford graduating from Stamford High School 1956. He served in the United States Army. He was a retired telephone lineman for Verizon Telephone Company in White Plains, N.Y.. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford and First Lutheran Church in Greenwich. He was a member of Byram Sokol USA, The Griffith E. Harris Golf Course in Greenwich, The Telephone Pioneers of America, The Boys Scouts of America, Local CWA #1103 and The National AARP.
Zboray is survived by his wife, Jeannette Zboray; sons, Michael B. Zboray (Stephanie) and David Zboray; a granddaughter; a goddaughter; brother, Bill Zboray of Bloomfield; sister Carol Sadlon (Jack) of Stamford and many nieces and nephews.

Zboray William B.
William B. Zboray, 83, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of the late Constance (Rawson) Zboray, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born in Greenwich to the late Benjamin and Anna (Frano) Zboray, he lived most of his life in Greenwich and has been a Bloomfield resident for the last 11 years. Bill, as he was known, was an eighth grade American History teacher in the Greenwich public schools for over 37 years and coached track for many of those years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich, the Retired Men's Association, Old Greenwich Lions Club and the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity. An avid tennis player, he was also a member of the Old Greenwich Tennis Academy and the Bloomfield Tennis Academy, but his true passion was his family who will miss him dearly. Time together at 'Grove Beach', the yearly family Clambake, and Sunday's spent attending church, playing bags and then lunch together were some of his favorites. A graduate of Stamford High, class of '52, he was proud of the fact that he held the school record for the mile run (4:37:07). He attended Columbia University and later Columbia Teachers College where he continued to run track. Bill served in the Army for 2 years and was stationed at Fort Huachuca, which served as a backdrop for many of his wonderful stories. He loved his 37 years teaching at Eastern Middle School because he had a passion for the subject matter, as well as a passion for teaching kids. Bill is survived by his son William B. Zboray Jr. and his wife Gig of Readsboro, VT; his daughters, Sarah Kateley of Deep River and Amy Rawson Conniff and her husband Keith of Windsor Locks; his sister Carol Sadlon and her husband Jack of Stamford; his sister-in-law Jeannette Zboray of Greenwich; his grandchildren, Willy, Jesse, Andrew, Benjamin, Joshua, Jacob and Emily. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Mike Zboray. His family will receive friends on Sunday, September 24 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21 at the Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich, 38 West End Ave Old Greenwich.
